Job Description & How to Apply Below

Methodist Health System is seeking a compassionate and skilled Staff Nurse (Registered Nurse) to join our Emergency Department within our Healthcare & Medical Services team. As a key member of our front-line clinical staff, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals experiencing acute and critical health needs. Working in a fast-paced emergency setting, you will perform comprehensive patient assessments, prioritize care through effective triage, and deliver timely interventions in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, advanced practice providers, and fellow nurses.

In this role, you will be responsible for administering medications, initiating and managing IV therapy, monitoring cardiac and vital signs, and supporting a variety of critical care procedures in alignment with current evidence-based practices and hospital protocols. You will use electronic medical record systems to document assessments, interventions, responses, and care plans accurately and efficiently, ensuring clear communication and continuity of care.

You will also provide education, emotional support, and clear explanations to patients and their families, helping them understand diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions during what is often a stressful and uncertain time.

The Staff Nurse will actively participate in maintaining a safe environment by following strict infection prevention standards, adhering to all regulatory and hospital policies, and promptly identifying and escalating changes in patient condition. You will collaborate closely with other members of the healthcare team to coordinate diagnostic testing, specialty consultations, and transitions of care, whether patients are admitted, transferred, or discharged.

Your ability to think critically, remain calm under pressure, and manage multiple priorities will be essential to delivering high-quality emergency care.

Aligned with Methodist Health System’s culture of integrity, compassion, and accountability, you are expected to demonstrate respectful, inclusive communication and to support a collaborative work environment where all team members contribute to excellent patient outcomes. You will participate in ongoing professional development, skills training, and quality improvement initiatives within the department, supporting our mission to improve and save lives every day.

Methodist Health System offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement options, to support your well-being as you care for the communities we serve.
