About the Role
As a Construction Project Commissioning Manager, you will work on a team delivering a hyperscale data center and have direct accountability for project quality and commissioning. This job is part of the Construction Management and Project Management functions, responsible for ensuring all deliverables of construction projects are completed on time and from initiation through completion. You will be responsible for all commissioning and quality control related projects at the site, including expansions, modifications, retrofits, and technology‑driven projects.
The position is onsite in Red Oak, TX and relocation assistance may be provided for the right candidate.
- Manage site-based quality control & quality assurance programs and ensure the GC is executing this program effectively, while executing the commissioning program and strategically leading Google’s GC and operations team.
- Create, update and maintain the project submittal log and all other project-specific quality control reports.
- Review shop drawings and submittals for conformance with project specifications.
- Chair and document weekly QC meetings with the site superintendent.
- Meet weekly with QC managers to track, discuss and close BIM 360 QC issues.
- Provide written daily QC reports that reinforce activities being constructed in conformance with each specific project standard and constructively confront non‑conformances.
- Conduct preparatory, initial and follow‑up meetings to establish an understanding of the standards of care desired for each work feature and verify that checklists are used and signed off before placement of concrete, steel and other items.
- Verify and document that all materials received are in conformance with approved submittals.
- Conduct periodic follow‑up inspections to verify that work is proceeding with the contract documents and approved submittals.
- Document final inspections and acceptance of the works in various project phases.
- Manage the quality control staff and all specialty subcontractor inspection entities to ensure compliance with owner/architect and contract specifications, codes, regulations, and requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact and liaison with the owner for all quality control related issues.
- Implement and/or manage the keeping of all quality control records and ensure required reporting is accomplished.
- Plan, schedule and coordinate preparatory, initial and follow‑up audits/inspections, carrying out internal audits at site as scheduled in the Project Quality Plan.
- Report results to the superintendent promptly and act as a catalyst for corrective actions and re‑inspection when deficiencies are discovered.
- Assist the Project Safety Coordinator to implement and aggressively enforce safety programs and practices to create a safe and healthy work environment.
- Support technical escalations on testing scope and issues from project level, providing direction.
- Support the Quality & Cx Team in all corporate owner program initiatives and meetings.
- Assist the QCx Team to develop and implement processes to ensure technical consistency and documentation of the QCx program.
- Manage QCx reporting and dashboards, and develop/maintain metrics.
- Support the Program Cx Manager in data collection, recording and analysis.
- Monitor existing on‑site Cx processes for consistency and adherence to Google expectations.
- As directed by the client, support the Cx Program Manager in implementing the Cx strategy and execution.
- Work with the general contractors to ensure their QC team understands and follows site requirements for quality assurance and commissioning.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred with 8–10 years of relevant experience; a combination of experience and education will be considered in lieu of a degree.

- In‑depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
