Waste Connections is seeking a Diesel Mechanic for our night shift fleet maintenance team. In this role, you'll inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel trucks and heavy equipment used in essential waste collection and recycling operations. Responsibilities include performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting hydraulics and electrical systems, completing repair documentation, and following all safety and environmental procedures. You'll work in a safety-focused, team-oriented shop with modern tools, stable hours, and opportunities for training, advancement, and long-term career growth within a performance-driven company.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel trucks and heavy equipment
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electrical, and brake systems
- Complete accurate work orders and maintenance records
- Follow all safety, environmental, and company policies
- Collaborate with drivers and supervisors to prioritize repairs
- Use diagnostic tools, shop equipment, and manuals effectively
- Support a clean, organized, and safe shop environment
