Description Position Summary
SOLVCHEM, Inc. is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Company Driver to join our Logistics team in Midlothian, Texas. This role is responsible for the safe and efficient local delivery of hazardous and non-hazardous chemical products while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Safely load and unload hazardous and non-hazardous products using pallet jacks, handling 55-gallon drums, IBC totes, and other heavy materials (regular lifting up to 50 lbs.).
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections on tractors and trailers, ensuring regulatory compliance and accurate documentation.
- Serve as a professional company representative and liaison to customers in an appropriate manner at all times.
- Complete and submit all delivery, driver, and hazardous materials paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with the Logistics Department regarding vehicle maintenance, repairs, and upcoming expiration dates.
- Adhere to all SOLVCHEM safety policies, procedures, and Health & Safety regulations.
- Keep assigned vehicle clean and in excellent operating condition.
- Assist warehouse operations as directed, including forklift use, loading, cleaning, and general plant support.
- Comply with all DOT, federal, state, and company regulations regarding the transport of hazardous materials.
- Submit to required drug screenings and alcohol tests per company policy.
- Follow the SOLVCHEM Driver Handbook, including journey management and security protocols.
- Compile and record production data from customer orders, work tickets, and product specifications following prescribed recording procedures.
- Calculate factors, such as types and quantities of items produced, materials used, and amount of scrap, frequency of defects, and worker and department production rates.
- Write production reports based on data compiled.
- Maintain files of documents used and prepared.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Logistics Department.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Forklift certification preferred.
- Valid Class A CDL with Haz Mat endorsement
. - Must be able to safely operate a manual transmission commercial vehicle.
- Current DOT medical card and hazardous materials transportation certificate.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer experience (chemical industry experience strongly preferred).
- A strong safety mindset, customer service orientation, integrity, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- The ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic experience with Microsoft Office applications.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
