Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to support day-to-day payables operations for a Long-term Contract position based in Midlothian, Virginia. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, accurate with financial details, and confident managing invoice processing and payment activities. The specialist will help maintain timely vendor payments, ensure proper coding of transactions, and contribute to smooth accounts payable workflows.

Responsibilities:
• Process a high volume of vendor invoices with careful attention to accuracy, approvals, and payment timelines.
• Assign correct account codes to invoices and expenses to support accurate financial reporting and recordkeeping.
• Prepare and coordinate ACH payments and check disbursements in accordance with established schedules.
• Review invoices and supporting documents to verify completeness, pricing, and authorization before payment.
• Reconcile payable records and resolve discrepancies by working with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain organized accounts payable documentation and ensure payment activity is properly recorded.
• Monitor outstanding invoices and follow up as needed to prevent delays and support efficient cash flow management.
