Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounts Payable Clerk / Receptionist to support our construction operations. This role combines accounting support with front-office responsibilities and serves as a key point of contact for vendors, subcontractors, and visitors. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, and comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities Accounts Payable- Process vendor and subcontractor invoices accurately and timely
- Match invoices to purchase orders, contracts, and delivery tickets
- Verify invoice coding and job cost allocation
- Enter invoices into accounting system (Quick Books)
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve billing discrepancies
- Maintain organized digital and paper AP files
- Ensure compliance with company policies and construction lien requirements
- Greet and assist visitors in a professional manner
- Answer and route incoming phone calls
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries
- Maintain office supplies and coordinate orders
- Assist with document preparation, filing, and data entry
- Support project managers and office staff as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree preferred)
- 5 plus years of Accounts Payable or bookkeeping experience in the Construction industry
- Familiarity with job costing and subcontractor invoices a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience with accounting software (Quick Books preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
- Office-based with regular interaction with vendors and field personnel
- Full-time position, Monday–Friday
