The Summer Camp Area Director will be responsible for overseeing various operational aspects of our summer camp program. During the first couple of weeks, the Area Director will work side-by-side with the Owner, with the goal of becoming more independent each successive week.
Please note that administration may assign additional duties as needed to support the success of the program. As the main client-facing representative of the Club Sci Kidz brand, the Area Director is expected to maintain the highest level of professionalism, integrity, positivity, and leadership at all times.
Key ResponsibilitiesOne of the most important aspects of this position is inventory management
. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Managing and tracking inventory at the warehouse
- Transporting supplies to and from camp locations
- Performing heavy lifting as needed for inventory movement
- Transferring materials between camp sites
- Driving a U-Haul van or truck to transport inventory to various locations in Richmond and Northern Virginia
- Keeping inventory records accurate and up to date
- Tracking rental laptops, iPads, and other technology throughout the season
- Coordinating with Site Directors to manage leftover inventory at the end of each camp week
At the end of each week of camp, the Area Director will be responsible for leading and coordinating with Site Directors to sort through remaining supplies. This includes discarding trash, salvaging usable supplies, packing materials, and transporting them back to the warehouse. This process is essential to keeping the warehouse organized and in good condition throughout the summer and ensuring that inventory is properly accounted for by the end of the season.
WorkLocations
The primary work locations will include:
- Richmond-area camp sites
- Club Sci Kidz warehouse in Oilville, VA
- Northern Virginia camp locations, as needed
The Area Director will be required to make several trips to Northern Virginia at the start of the camp season to drop off inventory. After the initial bulk delivery, the Area Director may need to drive to Northern Virginia approximately once per week to deliver any missed or additional supplies.
Work WeeksThe expected work weeks are:
- June 1–5
- June 8–12
- June 15–19
- June 22–26
- July 6–10
- July 13–17
- July 20–24
- July 27–31
There is also a possibility of starting during the last week of May and continuing through the first week of August, depending on program needs.
PayWeekly pay will be $600 per week
, based on $20 per hour for an estimated 30 hours per week
.
The weeks of June 1–5 and August 3–8, if worked, will be paid based on actual hours worked. If the Area Director is absent on any scheduled workday, pay will be adjusted accordingly.
Deductions from gross wages will include the usual required with holdings, including federal and state withholding taxes.
