The Opportunity – Full Time Nocturnist Cross-Cover
- Seeking Hospitalist physician assistants and nurse practitioners.
- Primary point of contact for nursing staff for adult inpatient needs during the overnight shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM).
- Respond to urgent clinical situations, including bedside assessments as needed.
- Assist with overnight admissions (typically 0–1 per night).
- Provide cross-coverage for approximately 100–130 adult inpatients.
- In-house Physician back up. No ICU responsibilities.
- Current national certification, DEA, and ACLS are preferred.
- Previous hospitalist/inpatient experience is preferred.
- Candidates wanting to work in an academic setting with current residents desired.
- Current VA state license is a plus.
- 12-hour shift, 7p-7a.
- 1-2 weekends per month.
The Practice
Bon Secours St. Francis Medical Center – Midlothian, Virginia
- 185-bed hospital.
- Chest Pain Center, Stroke Center, and STEMI Receiving Center.
- Annual volume of 12,000 with an average of 20 admits per day and 10 admits per night.
- No procedures required unless desired.
- Onsite labs and imaging.
- Variety of sub-specialty backup available including anesthesia, cardiology/EP, infectious disease, Heme/Onc, and more.
- State of the art facility with recent bed expansion and renovation.

- Midlothian offers a four-season climate experience with temperatures ranging from 70 to 89 degrees in the summers and 29 to 47 degrees in the winters.

- The Blue Ridge Mountains sit 90 minutes west, and the Atlantic Ocean awaits just 90 minutes east.
