Join Our Team as a Locum - Physician - Maternal Fetal Medicine in Midlothian, VA

Are you a dedicated Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist seeking a flexible, rewarding opportunity to make a difference? We are currently seeking a skilled Locum Physician to provide expert maternal-fetal care in Midlothian, VA.

This role offers the chance to support high-risk pregnancies in a dynamic clinical setting, helping to ensure excellent outcomes for mothers and babies during key coverage periods.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide outpatient and inpatient maternal-fetal medicine services
  • Perform essential procedures such as amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling, and manage high-risk pregnancies
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including nurse educators, sonographers, and genetic counselors
  • Utilize EPIC and Viewpoint EMR systems for documentation and patient management
  • Support patient care with ultrasound imaging and high-risk pregnancy management
Required Skills:
  • Board-certified or Board-eligible in Maternal Fetal Medicine
  • Proven expertise in high-risk pregnancy management
  • Strong procedural skills, including amniocentesis and CV sampling
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating with onsite staff
Nice to Have

Skills:
  • Experience with obstetric ultrasound and fetal monitoring
  • Procedural training in cerclage placement
  • Familiarity with high-risk obstetric protocols and multidisciplinary collaboration
Preferred

Education and Experience:
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
  • Active medical license in Virginia or eligible for licensure
  • Prior experience in a hospital or outpatient setting with high-risk obstetric patients
Other Requirements:
  • Credentialing process estimated at 90 days
  • Willingness to travel to cover designated facilities
  • Certification in ACLS or ATLS preferred
  • Ability to work scheduled openings on 05/08-05/15, 05/16-05/22, and 05/26-05/31, with start date targeted for 03/01/2026
  • Compensation of competitive pay, paid weekly via direct deposit, with reimbursable travel expenses (flight, hotel, rental car, mileage at IRS standard rate)
