Maternal - Fetal Medicine Physician

We are seeking a Board-Certifiedor Board-Eligible Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) Physician for locum tenenscoverage in Midlothian, Virginia. This position supports a high-volume MFMpractice with a strong focus on high-risk pregnancies, providing both clinicand inpatient care.

Clinical Details

• Average Scheduled Patients per Day: 27
• High-Risk Pregnancy Volume: 95%
• Low-Risk Pregnancy Volume: 5%
• Nursery Level: Level III
• EMR: Epic, Viewpoint

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care for high-risk obstetric patients in office and inpatient settings
• Perform consultations, diagnostic evaluations, and longitudinal management of complex maternal and fetal conditions
• Collaborate with OB/GYNs, neonatology, nursing, and interdisciplinary care teams
• Participate in call coverage for urgent and emergent MFM needs
• Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation in the EMR

Required Skills &Procedures

• Amniocentesis
• Chorionic Villus Sampling (CVS)
• Cerclage (preferred)
• Management of high-risk conditions including:
• Pre-eclampsia and hypertension
• Multiple gestations
• Fetal growth restriction
• Chromosomal, congenital, and genetic abnormalities
• Pre-term labor
• Thrombophilia and genetic disorders
• Birth defects and complex maternal/fetal comorbidities
• Experience with vaginal and cesarean deliveries in high-risk settings

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Maternal Fetal Medicine
• Completion of an accredited MFM fellowship
• Active Virginia medical license
• BLS certification
• AIUM certification
