Join Our Team as a Locum - Physician - Maternal Fetal Medicine Midlothian, VA

Are you a skilled Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist seeking a rewarding locum opportunity? We are actively recruiting dedicated physicians to provide expert care at renowned medical centers, offering flexibility, competitive compensation, and collaborative support. This role is ideal for experienced providers committed to excellence in high-risk obstetrics.

Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive maternal-fetal care at Bon Secours St. Francis Medical Center during specified open dates, including support for high-risk pregnancies and procedures such as amniocentesis, CVS, cerclage (preferred), and management of pre-eclampsia, growth restrictions, genetic and congenital abnormalities, pre-term labor, hypertension, thrombophilia, and fetal/maternal co-morbidities. The practice combines office and inpatient care, with an average of 27 patients per day. You will work within a team supported by an NP, RN clinic educator, sonographer, and genetic counselor, utilizing the EPIC and Viewpoint EMR systems.

The clinic includes three exam rooms, ultrasound capabilities, and comprehensive patient support.

Required Skills:

Valid medical license to practice in Virginia

Proven experience in maternal-fetal medicine

Proficiency in high-risk obstetric procedures such as amniocentesis and CVS

Ability to manage complex pregnancies and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams

Strong documentation skills using EPIC and Viewpoint EMRs

Excellent communication and patient care skills

Nice to Have

Skills:

Experience supervising other healthcare providers

Additional certifications in maternal-fetal medicine or obstetrics

Experience in ultrasound interpretation and fetal diagnostics

Background in managing high-volume clinics

Preferred

Education and Experience:

MD or DO degree from an accredited institution

Board certification in Maternal-Fetal Medicine

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar setting

Prior experience working in high-risk obstetrics environments

Other Requirements:

Credentialing estimated to take approximately 90 days

Willingness to work on scheduled open dates: 03/01-05/15, 05/16-05/22, 05/26-05/31, with potential for additional coverage

Travel and lodging expenses covered including flight, hotel, rental car, or mileage (billed at IRS standard rate)

Ability to perform advanced fetal procedures and handle complex cases
