Position: Teacher of the Deaf in Midlothian, VA

Qualifications:
  • Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
  • Experience working with children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Knowledge of assistive technology, auditory/oral and sign language communication approaches
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to create engaging, individualized lesson plans that accommodate diverse learning needs
  • Familiarity with IEP development and progress monitoring
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Deliver specialized instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing within classroom or small group settings
  • Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to support student engagement and growth
  • Collaborate with regular education teachers, parents, and related service providers to promote student success
  • Participate in IEP meetings, assessments, and the evaluation of student progress

  • Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with school and district policies
