Facility:This well-established healthcare network operates multiple urgent care clinic locations across the Richmond area, providing comprehensive episodic and urgent care services to a diverse patient population ranging from birth to end of life. The clinics are open seven days a week and are supported by a strong care team dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across the region.
Opportunity:Board Certified - Urgent Care
Job Details:- Locum and Locum to Perm opportunity covering 3 days/week across multiple urgent care clinic locations in the Richmond, VA area
- Clinics operate 7 days a week, 8am to 8pm, with 12-hour shifts depending on patient flow
- Expected to see all patients who arrive during hours of operation
- 100% outpatient practice setting with an average of 25 to 50 patients per day, with higher volumes during cold and flu season
- Patient population ranges from birth to death and can vary from clinic to clinic and day to day
- Higher acuity cases will need to be referred to a higher level of care (ED/ER)
- Perform laceration repair including simple, intermediate, and complex suturing or stapling
- Perform incision and drainage (I&D) including packing
- Perform foreign body removal and minor burn management
- Provide skin lesion care and orthopedic injury stabilization
- Perform splinting and casting as well as joint reduction
- Conduct diagnostic and point-of-care testing including x-ray interpretation and EKG evaluation
- Interpret point-of-care lab results including rapid strep, flu, COVID-19, RSV, urinalysis, and blood glucose testing
- Perform epistaxis management including anterior nasal packing or chemical cautery (silver nitrate)
- Perform cerumen impaction removal
- Provide airway support including administration of nebulizer treatments and initial emergency stabilization
- Utilize Epic EMR for all documentation
- Active Virginia license required
- Board Certification required
- Active BLS and DEA required
- At least 1 year of experience in an ED/ER, primary care, or urgent care setting required
- Clean background with no malpractice or license issues required, no exceptions
- Local candidates only; no travel costs will be reimbursed
- Estimated credentialing timeframe: 60 to 90 days
