NOW HIRING PC/Bench/Surplus Technician
The PC/Bench/Surplus Technician will evaluate desktop technology entering the storeroom and surplus process to identify equipment that can be repaired, refurbished, redeployed, or returned to service. The technician will perform diagnostic testing and minor hardware repairs, determine equipment viability, and help reduce unnecessary equipment replacement and surplus while maintaining accurate inventory and asset handling processes.
Responsibilities Include:- Inspect and evaluate PCs, laptops, monitors, printers, and peripherals received for surplus or return.
- Determine whether equipment is functional, repairable, reusable, or appropriate for final surplus.
- Perform minor hardware repairs and component replacement when economically and operationally appropriate.
- Test repaired/refurbished equipment to ensure it is suitable for redeployment.
- Identify usable equipment that may have been incorrectly designated for surplus and return it to available inventory.
- Maintain accurate documentation of equipment disposition, repairs, and inventory status.
- Ensure appropriate handling and security of hard drives and other data-bearing devices.
- Escalate equipment requiring advanced technical repair or evaluation when appropriate.
- CompTIA A+ (preferred)
- 3+ years' experience supporting Windows
10/Win
11/365 desktop/laptop PCs. - Experience troubleshooting hardware issues and replacing hardware on both desktop and laptop PCs.
- Experience installing software, patches, updates on Desktops, Laptops, Servers
- Experience troubleshooting basic network, software, printing problems.
- Customer Service Experience a must!
Job Type: Full time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
