We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) to join our healthcare team in . This vital role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in obstetric nursing, demonstrate excellent patient assessment skills, and be committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care.

• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs continuously to ensure safety during labor and delivery.
• Assist with labor management, including pain relief procedures such as epidural administration and other comfort measures.
• Prepare patients for delivery by performing sterile procedures, including suturing and assisting with cesarean sections when necessary.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care effectively.
• Educate patients and their families on postpartum care, breastfeeding, and newborn care practices.
• Document all nursing interventions accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Cerner or Epic.
• Manage emergency situations with proficiency in airway management, IV infusion, and acute pain management protocols.
• Ensure adherence to infection control standards and aseptic techniques throughout all procedures.
• Provide support for neonatal resuscitation and stabilization as needed.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives aligned with hospital standards for maternal health.

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license with current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
• Proven experience in labor and delivery nursing within a hospital setting;
  Level I or Level II trauma center experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or Epic for accurate documentation.
• Knowledge of obstetric procedures including suturing, fetal monitoring, and sterile techniques.
• Experience working with diverse patient populations, including high-risk pregnancies and patients with developmental disabilities or complex medical histories.
• Strong understanding of physiology related to labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, and neonatal care.
• Ability to perform physical examinations, assess patient needs promptly, and respond effectively in emergency situations.
• Excellent communication skills coupled with a compassionate approach to patient care.
• Additional skills such as trauma medicine experience, infection control practices, or familiarity with ICD coding are advantageous.
