Position Overview

The Obstetrics (OB) Registered Nurse (RN) ncis Medical Center provides nursing care for women during pregnancy, birth, postpartum, gynecological, and newborn care, including triage, assessment, education, stabilization, and emergency management.

The OB RN is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by:

• Utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status
• Determining the priority of the patient’s problems and needs
• Implementing clinical nursing interventions for acute, critical patients requiring intensive medical care
• Developing and performing patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes
• Ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
• Provide care to women, newborns, and families, honoring all gender identities and parenting preferences
• Deliver episodic (outpatient) and inpatient obstetric/women’s health nursing care where applicable
• Apply the nursing process to women during pregnancy, birth, postpartum, gynecological issues and neonatal care until discharge
• Provide care to women of all ages requiring triage, prioritization, assessment, education, stabilization, resuscitation, and emergency management
• Administer medications safely in compliance with state practice and institutional policies
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Graduate of an accredited associate’s or bachelor’s degree in nursing

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire; must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care); ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support acceptable in lieu of BLS
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) (preferred at hire; must obtain within 3 months)
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification – National Certification Corporation (preferred if interpreting fetal monitoring)

• One (1) year of professional experience practicing as an RN
• Recent OB, ED, or critical care experience (preferred but not required)

• EPIC Electronic Health Record training (preferred but not required)

Minimum: $34.33 per hour;
Maximum: $54.93 per hour.
