Join a busy Labor & Delivery team providing compassionate, evidence-based care to mothers, newborns, and families in a high-acuity hospital setting. This 13‑week travel assignment is ideal for an experienced L&D RN who is confident managing the full continuum of obstetrical care, including labor, delivery, postpartum, and cesarean sections.

Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery - Shift:

Not accepted (must live more than 50 miles from the facility)
- Provide comprehensive nursing care throughout the antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care continuum.
- Perform maternal and fetal assessments, monitor fetal heart tracings, and respond to changes in patient condition.
- Circulate C‑sections and assist during deliveries (scrubbing experience preferred).
- Administer medications, including magnesium sulfate, while following evidence-based practice.
- Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, breastfeeding, newborn care, discharge planning, and postpartum recovery.
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
- Respond to obstetric emergencies, perform maternal and neonatal stabilization, and advocate for patient safety.
- Document patient care accurately using Epic and Perinatal Centricity (QS) when applicable.
- Active RN license (or Compact License)
- Minimum 1-2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience
- Hospital experience required
- Experience with:
- Antepartum
- Intrapartum
- Postpartum
- Cesarean Sections
- Magnesium Sulfate Administration
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP required
- Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) certification preferred
- C-EFM certification strongly preferred
- Dysrhythmia Exam required
- Epic and Perinatal Centricity (QS) experience preferred
- Ability to circulate C-sections required
- Ability to scrub/assist with deliveries preferred
- 12-bed Labor & Delivery unit
- Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:1–2 (based on patient acuity and staffing)
- High-acuity patient population, including:
- High-risk pregnancies
- Language barriers
- Substance use disorders
- Chronic medical conditions affecting pregnancy
- Equipment includes:
- GE fetal monitors
- Warmers
- Pulse oximetry
- Blood glucose monitoring equipment
- May be required to float within the New Life Center or to other Labor & Delivery units in the Richmond area.
- Electronic fetal monitoring
- Maternal and neonatal resuscitation
- Vaginal exams
- Breastfeeding support and education
- Operating room experience
