What You’ll Be Working On

Accountable for the overall management and direction of day‑to‑day sales floor functions, upholding company standards throughout customer and donor areas, and ensuring fast, accurate, and friendly service at cash registers, self‑checkouts, the retail floor, and donation points. The Retail Sales Manager guides the team by the Savers Vision and Core Values and reports to the Store Manager.

Store Performance
  • Ensures store performance meets financial targets and key metrics.
  • Monitors and sets the pace of work.
  • Analyzes company objectives, local market potential, and key metrics.
  • Inspects sales floor for shop‑ability and merchandising standards.
  • Generates new Super Savers Club membership.
  • Prioritizes and directs team member activity.
Leadership and Development
  • Leads, directs, and supervises supervisors and retail sales floor team members.
  • Plans staffing needs and coordinates recruitment, selection, and training.
  • Regularly trains, coaches, and counsels supervisors and team members; provides recognition, feedback, and resolves complaints.
  • Identifies and develops high‑potential team members for supervisory and management positions.
  • Maintains a respectful, values‑driven workplace adhering to all Policies and Procedures.
  • Fulfills Store Manager responsibilities and oversees the entire store as acting Store Manager when absent.
Retail and CDC Operations
  • Schedules supervisors and team members for cash register, self‑checkout, and sales floor to meet demand.
  • Assesses the sales floor and donor areas, directing activity to meet standards and setting pace of work.
  • Informs team members of operating plan targets and progress.
  • Monitors sales, items sold, and labor hours to ensure efficiency and adjust staffing.
  • Identifies sub‑standard departments/categories and takes action.
  • Determines appropriate space‑to‑sales for departments using the Cat Max tool.
  • Receives and responds to customer questions, requests, complaints; processes exchanges and special customer needs.
  • Leverages Voice of Customer Program to improve satisfaction.
  • Delivers positive customer/donor experience by training and coaching service expectations.
  • Engages customers for first‑hand feedback to improve all experience aspects.
  • Implements setup of sales and marketing promotions & programs.
Safety, Loss Prevention & Cash/Tender Control
  • Maintains a safe work environment through education and consistent follow‑up.
  • Partners with Store Manager on safety issues and solutions.
