Box Truck Delivery Driver

Position Overview

Non‑CDL Driver I is a delivery position responsible for driving a company vehicle limited to a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of 14,900. The role includes assigned stops to deliver food service products with a high level of service to customers. Commercial or professional driving experience is preferred, but not required. All functions must be completed in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).

The driver must meet the medical requirements of the DOT and pass a DOT physical examination.

Base pay ranges from $26.50 to $28.50 per hour. The position is full‑time, Monday through Friday, with available overtime, and incentive compensation based on productivity and quality. • Transport deliveries by driving assigned vehicles following the scheduled stop sequence.
• Load and unload the vehicle for multi‑stop deliveries.
• Use hand trucks to move product from the delivery vehicle to customer locations, including stairs.
• Accurately record delivery information using a hand scanner and all required company documentation.
• Monitor refrigeration systems on the delivery vehicle to ensure food safety.
• Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections, including fluid levels, tire condition, windshield washing, and fuel replenishment.
• Use safe lifting and loading techniques, lifting up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
• Communicate any delivery‑customer issues to the appropriate authority (e.g., Customer Service, Territory Manager, Transportation Supervisor).
• Verify correct delivery by checking invoices and processing paperwork, including damaged merchandise.
• Collect payments when necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license issued by the state of legal residence with proper endorsements, if required.
• Minimum of one year of multi‑stop delivery experience or six months of local delivery or food service industry experience.
• Hand‑cart delivery experience preferred.
• Able to read, write, and communicate in English, and possess basic math skills.
• Must pass pre‑employment testing including drug screen and background check.
• Must have knowledge of area and/or map reading abilities.
• Must pass DOT physical examination.
• Must have a clean driving record: no more than two convictions for traffic violations in the past two years, no DUI convictions in the past three years, and no driver’s license suspensions in the past three years.
• Availability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
