Financial Controller

A well-established technology-driven business operating within the energy sector is looking for a commercially astute Financial Controller to take ownership of the financial function and play a key role in supporting business performance. This is not a role for someone who wants to spend their career buried in reconciliations and month-end checklists. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders, provide meaningful financial insights, strengthen controls and processes, and help translate financial information into better business decisions.

• Lead and oversee monthly financial reporting and month-end close processes
• Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial statements and management reporting
• Manage budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making
• Monitor cash flow, working capital and overall financial performance
• Oversee audit, tax, statutory and compliance requirements
• Strengthen financial controls, governance and reporting processes
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and operational efficiency
• Partner with senior management and operational stakeholders
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team

• CA(SA) qualification essential
• 5+ years' post-articles experience
• Previous experience in a Financial Controller, Financial Manager or similar senior finance role
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting experience
• Commercially minded with strong business partnering capabilities
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
• Strong ERP and advanced Excel proficiency
• Experience managing and developing a finance team
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience with in a project-driven, engineering, technology or energy environment would be advantageous
