Job Description
We are looking for an experienced HR Information Systems Specialist to drive the design
, optimisation
, and governance of our HR Information Systems and analytics capability
.
This role is critical in enabling accurate
, compliant HR reporting
, supporting digital HR transformation
, and delivering meaningful workforce insights across the business.
You will work closely with Stakeholders to ensure that HR systems, data, and reporting solutions are fit-for-purpose, future-ready, and aligned to South African legislative requirements.
Job Objectives:
HRIS & Reporting Enablement
- Design, develop, and implement HR Shared Services–specific reporting and HR analytics solutions
- Map HR processes, information flows, and reporting requirements
- Define HRIS architecture, system scope, and data integration standards
- Ensure accurate data flow from all feeder systems into the HRIS
- Manage HRIS change requests end-to-end, from scoping through to deployment
HR Technology Roadmaps & Digital Transformation
- Develop and maintain HR technology roadmaps and blueprints
- Identify and implement automation and process optimisation opportunities
- Enhance employee, manager, and HR user experience through technology
HR Analytics, BI & Compliance Reporting
- Build and maintain compliance, operational, and ad hoc HR reports
- Implement data collation, cleansing, validation, and variance checks
- Partner with HR and business owners to resolve data inconsistencies
- Maintain BI dashboards and deliver accurate workforce insights
- Ensure data integrity across all HR systems at all times
Organisation Design Enablement
- Translate approved organisational structures into HR systems, including positions, reporting lines, and cost centres
- Support workforce planning, organisational effectiveness, and compliance
Governance, Risk & Stakeholder Enablement
- Implement HRIS governance, controls, and audit-ready processes
- Ensure compliance with BCEA, Employment Equity, BBBEE, and Skills Development reporting requirements
- Partner with HR, Payroll, IT, BI, and Finance stakeholders
- Provide system training, guidance, and enablement to HR users and managers
System Optimisation & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor system performance and data quality
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and scalability
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, HR Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Essential)
- HRIS or BI certifications (Pay Space, Workday, SAP, Power BI) (Desirable)
- 6–10 years’ experience in HR Technology / HRIS implementation, configuration, and support
- 3–5 years’ experience in i.e. Pay Space HR & Payroll administration and configuration
- 3–5 years’ experience with HR feeder system integrations (e.g. recruitment platforms)
- 3–5 years’ experience in Power BI or enterprise HR analytics
- Proven experience driving HR digital transformation initiatives
- Experience working in a matrix organisation
- Advanced HR process mapping and system configuration
- Advanced HRIS integrations, data flows, and change management
- Advanced HR reporting, analytics, and audit compliance
- Strong knowledge of BCEA, EE, BBBEE, and Skills Development reporting
- Solid understanding of organisation design enablement within HR systems
