We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Junior Maintenance Technician to join a Cold Store facility based in Midrand. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with mobile racking systems, general facility maintenance, and preferably a background in working with ammonia refrigeration systems in Cold Storage environment.

Key Skills

  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on mobile racking systems and warehouse storage equipment.
  • Carry on preventative maintenance repair tasks across various facility systems, including:
  • Lighting
  • HVAC
  • Basic plumbing and electrical
  • General building upkeep
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns and maintenance issues to minimize operational disruptions
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance work performed and report any recurring issues
  • Assist in the installation or modification of equipment and infrastructure
  • Support health and safety compliance by ensuring maintenance work is carried out safely and according to regulations

    • Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Technical qualifications or trade certifications in mechanical/electrical maintenance or related field will be advantageous
  • Minimum 2 – 3 years hands on experience in facility or mechanical maintenance
  • Experience with mobile racking systems essential
  • Exposure to ammonia refrigeration systems or working within Cold Store environment will be a strong advantage
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Physically fit and comfortable working in cold environments
  • Willing to work flexible hours or be on standby when necessary
  • Own reliable vehicle

    • Remuneration

    R12 000 – R14 000
