Payables Specialist

Job Description

This role is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of payment requests to Intermountain Health's suppliers for goods and services. It ensures that all payment requests are processed in compliance with IH policies and procedures, and provides excellent customer service with a thorough understanding of IH’s Accounts Payable (AP) systems, processes, and controls.

Monday – Friday business hours.

• Solves problems within AP systems
• Performs routine, repetitive tasks in recording day-to-day transactions related to payables, reconciliations, systems, and reports.
• Resolves errors and notifies appropriate personnel to prevent future occurrences; researches routine issues and makes recommendations for improvement.
• Provides excellent customer service to colleagues and customers with timely and professional phone calls, instant messages and emails.
• Demonstrates ownership and accountability by taking responsibility for tasks and exemplifies dependable attendance.
• Manages a volume of work to meet required deadlines and set department goals.
• Understands and applies IH’s policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Intermediate-level typing and personal computer skills are required.
• Experience with payables or related experience is preferred.
• Completion of college-level finance and/or accounting courses is preferred.

• Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, documents, and be able to assess customer needs.
• Interact with others requiring the employee to communicate information.
• Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate equipment with precision and accuracy, including frequent computer use for typing and accessing needed information.
