What You0

You'll Do
  • Observes, documents, and verifies work in progress by the construction contractor to ensure compliance with contract documents and plans. Confirms procedures are followed and material used conforms to specifications.
  • Utilizes engineering inspection practices to perform standard mathematical calculations and measurements of completed work to date.
  • Maintains Inspector's daily report of assigned work activities, contractor labor and equipment, quantity of material received and verified.
  • Performs on-site material testing and produces as-constructed sketches as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and 3 years of construction related experience.
  • All required jurisdictional certificates and state requirements.
What You'll Bring
  • Strong knowledge of roadway, bridge, utility, and transportation construction practices, along with experience interpreting project plans, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Experience performing daily inspections, documenting contractor work, tracking quantities and materials, and ensuring compliance with UDOT standards and project requirements.
  • UDOT CTP Level II certifications
    -REQUIRED
  • HMA or concrete paving experience, with the ability to understand and inspect active construction operations in the field.
  • Experience working on UDOT projects, including direct involvement in roadway, utility, or transportation infrastructure construction.
  • ATTSA Traffic Control, SRDT, Moisture/Density Gauge, and ACI/CTT certifications.
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while helping projects stay safe, organized, and on schedule.
  • A valid Utah driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites throughout Utah — yes, your own set of wheels helps too.
