Project Manager - Aviation

The HNTB Bellevue (Seattle, WA) office is looking for engineering graduates with 8 years of experience, including 2 years of task or project management experience, to join our Aviation Department as a Project Manager. This role involves managing assigned projects throughout their full lifecycle, from scope development and procurement to contract negotiation, budget, schedule, technical requirements and client communication.

• Geometric design of runways, taxiways and aprons
• Bituminous and concrete pavements
• Stormwater and utility infrastructure
• Airfield lighting
• Airfield support facilities
• Coordination with airport, airline, FAA and other aviation tenants
• Projects in all phases of planning, design and construction

• Develop the project scope, fee quotation, and support technical proposals and contracts in accordance with HNTB's Sophisticated Contracting Approach (SCA).
• Serve as the primary client liaison and manage the project team to deliver scope, schedule and budgets to completion and client satisfaction.
• Perform technical discipline tasks such as analysis, reports, design, specification, and production for assigned projects.
• Implement HNTB's Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA) on each project, lead development and execution of the project management plan, and supervise and mentor the team.
• Coordinate with managers on project staffing, recruitment, development, retention, and succession planning.
• Partner with Client Service Leaders and pursue champions to support business development, client relationships and strategic and mini‑mega project pursuits.
• Lead proposal development, interview presentations, and general industry/community presentations for strategic and mini‑mega projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 8 years of relevant experience.
• 2 years of task management or Deputy PM experience.

• Experience successfully delivering smaller projects with on‑time, on‑budget, quality, and client satisfaction outcomes.
• Ability to identify and manage risk and change issues.
• Leadership on a smaller project or task order with minimal or no subcontractors.
• Proficiency in system tools for project management and delivery.
• Capacity to interface with client peers on smaller projects.
• Provide technical guidance to team and task leads, including partial technical work.

• Master’s degree in Engineering.
• 10 years of relevant experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
• AICP certification.
• PMP certification.
