The Enterprise Field Exam Department at The Bancorporation conducts thorough on-site evaluations of Borrowers’ financial and collateral information to ensure accurate monitoring of accounts receivable, inventory, and other collateral securing revolving lines of credit. Our team, which includes over 25 outside contract Field Examiners and 4 internal Field Examiners, follows established procedures to validate accounting practices, assess collateral, and evaluate payment timeliness.

These exams are crucial for mitigating risk and supporting Borrowers in maintaining sound financial practices, all while aligning with the Bank’s credit policies and guidelines. While we operate independently, we highly value collaboration and teamwork to achieve our goals

We are currently seeking a Regional Field Examination Manager to join our team. This is a full time in office role located in either Midvale, Utah or Houston, Texas.

Responsibilities
  • Manages the field exam audit process on a regional basis including overseeing the functions field examiners and independent contractors (auditors).
  • Responsible for updating audit reports, reviewing field exams, training new field examiners and external auditors in the bank’s examination process.
  • Directs the scheduling of the field exams.
  • Performs field exams on prospects and existing clients and/or leads exams as required.
  • Ensures that independent audits comply with all requirements from an accounting and regulatory compliance stand-point.
  • Maintains up-to-date audit reports and work-papers.
  • Reviews various field exams for adherence to our standard processes.
  • Performs pre-funding exams on all accounts that are booked by ABL, or be present and become familiar with the process. Instruct the responsible Borrower’s employees on how, when and type of information to submit as well as the preparation of the Borrowing Base Certificates.
  • Responsible for vendor management for field examiners including adding field examiners and maintinng required documentations and compliance per third party vendor management.
  • Responsible for identifying issues in accordance with legal guidelines.
  • Makes recommendations on any areas of deficiencies noted during the course of the examination as it relates to potential prospect/client weaknesses which could potentially cause a negative impact to the collateral.
  • Responsible to hire, fire and conduct performance reviews.
  • Works on assigned projects as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
  • Requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting or a related field and 6+ yrs experience in asset based lending, particularly field examinations, statement analysis or other directly related experience.
  • Supervisory or management experience required.
  • A combination of education and experience may meet requirements.
  • Advance knowledge as a specialist in Asset Based Lending (ABL) auditing processes, procedure and regulations; including collateral and financial analysis.
  • Advance knowledge of accounting, general book entries, assets, liabilities and net worth activities, profit and loss statement, accruals, taxes, etc.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate risk areas in particular credits.
  • Excellent audit, analysis and problem resolution skills.
  • Strong client relationship and communications skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to train, coach and supervise the job performed by independent auditors and staff. Strong management skills.
  • Applies advanced ABL principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.
  • Advance knowledge of Excel, Word and other related accounting software.
