The Appraisal Review Manager will be working within Real Estate Technical Services to support daily operations across multiple teams and will report to the Enterprise Technology Center in Midvale, UT.

Responsibilities
  • Own the residential appraisal review area and serve as liaison, efficiency expert and problem-solver between loan production and the residential Appraisal Review Department.
  • Participate in the automation of appraisal procurement, review, scoring and system monitoring to ensure industry best practices and provide a competitive advantage.
  • Manage daily operations to increase reliability, accuracy and efficiencies relating to procurement and review of residential real estate appraisals for consumer and mortgage lending across all regions.
  • May be required to perform appraisal reviews.
  • Develop, administer and manage the training of appraisal review specialists for direct reports and applicable bank staff.
  • Manage the consumer and mortgage lending appraisal dispute function; resolve disputes and complaints as necessary.
  • Perform project management leadership functions as a project manager or team member, as needed.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives, including gathering and documenting business requirements.
  • Strong project management experience and data analytics proficiency preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate and TEAMS; SQL and Python preferred.
  • Assist in all phases of third-party supplier risk management life cycle for valuation services vendors.
  • Stay current on industry knowledge and regulations pertaining to appraisal methodology and secondary mortgage market policies to ensure regulatory and investor compliance.
  • Provide oversight to executive management by developing and providing departmental reports as needed.
  • Facilitate the integration of applicable operating systems and ensure compliance with bank policies, federal regulations and USPAP standards. Interpret and implement current regulations.
  • May order appraisals to control costs, ensure independence between loan and appraisal departments and provide proper instructions for appraisers.
  • Hire, transfer, terminate and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field.
  • 6+ years of directly related appraisal, credit, or financial analysis experience or equivalent.
  • Management experience; experience at a federally regulated institution preferred.
  • Certified Residential Appraiser license required at minimum.
  • Advanced knowledge of appraisals, appraisal practices, principles, applications and methods.
  • Advanced knowledge of audit procedures, legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong management, client relations and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced analysis and problem-solving skills; ability to work with internal and external clients.
  • Salary range: $115,000 to $145,000 annually, depending on experience and location.
  • Must possess applicable appraisal licensing, valuation experience and mortgage/consumer lending knowledge to facilitate system integration.

This position can be located at one of our headquarters in the following locations:
Midvale, UT (Enterprise Technology Center).
