Zions Bancorporation is seeking a collaborative, analytical, and self‑motivated Deposit Product Analyst to join our Retail Banking Data Analytics group. Located at our new, state‑of‑the‑art campus in Midvale, UT, you will serve as a key analytical engine supporting our Retail Deposits team.
In this role, you will conduct market and portfolio analytics, help design and modify deposit products, and maintain crucial monthly reporting. Beyond supporting deposits, you will have the opportunity to collaborate across Retail Banking, driving ad‑hoc analyses and financial modeling to optimize profitability across various product lines.
Responsibilities- Market & Product Intelligence:Identify, compile, and analyze competitor deposit products and market segments to help formulate competitive product offerings and high‑impact marketing strategies.
- Performance Reporting & Forecasting:Prepare short‑ and long‑term financial planning reports, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and maintain monthly dashboards to evaluate portfolio health.
- Profitability Optimization:Build and analyze complex financial models, cost‑benefit analyses, and economic valuations to proactively deliver actionable recommendations to the retail product team and leadership.
- Product Lifecycle Documentation:Create and manage clear, comprehensive documentation detailing specific features, operational requirements, and regulatory compliance parameters for new and existing deposit products.
- Multi‑Disciplinary Analysis:Conduct deep‑dive investigations across cost structures, customer penetration, product margins, valuation, budgeting, and financial reconciliation utilizing advanced analytical tools.
- Business Planning
Collaboration:
Actively participate in the broader financial planning cycles and deliver ad‑hoc analyses to support executive decision‑making.
- Education:Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a highly quantitative field. (An equivalent combination of education and directly related experience may be considered.)
- Experience:4+ years of professional experience in product, data, or financial analysis, financial modeling, or a directly related field.
- Industry Knowledge:Prior experience with banking or retail financial products is strongly preferred.
- Core Systems:Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
- Modern Analytics (Highly Preferred):Advanced technical skills using SQL, Databricks, Power BI, and/or Python to query databases, build data pipelines, and automate reporting dashboards.
- Financial Modeling:Proven ability or strong willingness to develop advanced financial models.
