Medical Assistant

Come join a small but growing private concierge medical practice focused on providing personalized, in-depth care to a smaller panel of patients.

This is a hybrid medical assistant and patient-support role. Because our physicians spend more time with each patient and see fewer patients per day than a traditional primary care practice, the position involves a broader mix of clinical and administrative responsibilities.

In addition to supporting patients during office visits, you will help coordinate their care between visits—communicating with patients, pharmacies, laboratories, specialists, and other healthcare organizations. We are looking for someone who enjoys getting to know patients and taking an active role in making sure their care gets handled from start to finish.

• Greet and room patients, obtain chief complaints, and record vital signs and other relevant information.
• Prepare patients for examinations and assist physicians during exams and minor procedures.
• Administer injections and medications under provider direction.
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
• Assist with wound care and dressing changes.
• Maintain clean, stocked, and prepared exam rooms and clinical equipment.

• Communicate regularly with patients by phone and electronic messaging regarding their care.
• Coordinate referrals, laboratory testing, prescriptions, pharmacy requests, and follow-up care.
• Communicate with specialists, pharmacies, laboratories, and other healthcare organizations on behalf of patients and providers.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date information in the electronic health record.
• Schedule appointments and help coordinate outside medical services.
• Assist with prior authorizations and other insurance-related tasks as needed.
• Answer incoming calls and help patients get their questions and requests to the appropriate person.
• Collect patient payments and accurately record payment information.
• Help manage medical supplies and support the day-to-day operation of a small medical office.

• Previous medical assistant or comparable clinical experience strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, basic clinical procedures, and electronic health records.
• Strong communication skills and a patient-friendly, professional manner.
• Reliable, organized, and comfortable managing multiple responsibilities in a small office.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation, safety, and infection-control procedures.
• Ability to work independently while also functioning well as part of a small team.
• Completion of an accredited medical assistant program and certification are preferred but not required. Relevant hands-on experience may substitute for formal certification.
