Retail Store Cashier

We're looking for a Part-time Retail Store Cashier who will deliver friendly, efficient customer service while supporting daily store operations. This role is responsible for operating the register accurately, maintaining a clean and well-stocked store, and contributing to a safe, profitable retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Observes shift operation hours at all times, as assigned by the Store Manager

* Performs specific task assigned by Store Manager

* Assist the Store Manager in seeing that the store maintains a store-inspection grade of at least 90% on the store-inspection report

* Gives all customers prompt and courteous service

* Follows the work schedule as posted, unless a change in schedule is arranged with Store Manager

* Attend store meetings

* Stays familiar with company price book, operations manual, and bulletins

* Ensures Store Manager is made aware of all sales, cash, or operation discrepancies.

* Operates shift within company guidelines to achieve sales and profit

* Operate the register and related business machines

* Accurate handling of cash and reporting

* Check in vendors and gas deliveries

* Stock warehouse orders

Bookkeeping:

* Prepare a shift-change report at the completion of shift in accordance with company guidelines

* Notifies Store Manager of any discrepancies in the operation results on the shift report, cash over, or shift conditions in excess or $5.00 within 24 hours

* Assures proper sale and accounting for lottery tickets during shift, as described in the operations manual

* Rings all sales as per training

* Accurately posts markups and markdowns, store use of merchandise, and bad-merchandise write-off's, within the established guidelines

* Counts the cigarette inventory on every shift, including counting and calculating.

Requirements:

* Minimum of 3 months of cash handling experience strongly preferred

* You must be able to work weekends.
