Residential Garbage Truck Driver (Equipment Operator)

Responsibilities:

• Follow a daily assigned route collecting refuse and/or recycling, and transport the load to the landfill, transfer station, or recycling facility.
• Perform pre‑ and post‑shift inspections and keep equipment clean and in proper working condition.
• Ensure loads remain within legal limits and comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Maintain a safe and efficient operation while rotating a four‑day work week with 10‑hour shifts.
• Adhere to all workplace safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment.

Qualifications:

• One year of general truck driving experience, with at least six months in a role that required a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Must possess a valid Class B CDL and a valid DOT Medical Card at the time of hire.
• Strong problem‑solving and time‑management skills.
• Good communication skills and a commitment to customer service.

Physical Requirements:

• Full range of motion in the shoulders, arms, hands, wrists, legs, and feet.
• Ability to push, pull, or lift up to 100 pounds as necessary.
• Capacity to sit for extended periods while exposed to traffic hazards, inclement weather, noise, dust, fumes, grease, and potentially unsanitary conditions.
• Must be able to climb into and out of equipment on a regular basis.
