Position: Seasonal CDL Driver (Local)

Seasonal CDL Driver (March 30th through September 30th)

Multiple positions available

Pay is $26.32 per hour. No benefits included. This position is open until filled.

We are currently hiring CDL Drivers for a seasonal program delivering containers to neighborhoods throughout Salt Lake County to dispose of bulky items that will not fit in the garbage cans. The program runs Monday through Friday until September 30th and is generally 40 hours per week. Drivers will operate 26,000lb hook lift trucks in residential neighborhoods to deliver and then haul the filled containers to the closest dumping facility.

Drivers must secure loads and cover the container before entering the roadway and uncover containers at dumping facilities.

Drivers must possess a valid Class B CDL with a valid DOT Medical Card, pass a pre-employment drug screen, Utah Motor Vehicle Report, and clearance through the FMSCA clearinghouse.

This position requires a full range of motion in the shoulders, arms, hands, wrists, legs, and feet. A driver must be able to push, pull, or lift up to 100 pounds as necessary to ensure route is complete and free of debris, and exhibit manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. In this position you will sit for extended periods while exposed to traffic hazards, inclement weather, noise, dust, fumes, grease, and potentially unsanitary conditions;

the use of personal protective equipment is mandatory. You must be able to climb into and out of equipment on a regular basis.

Requirements
  • Perform Daily D.O.T. inspections on vehicles and attached equipment.
  • Read Maps and use routing tools for efficient coverage.
  • CDL operators follow all laws regarding waste transportation (safety)
  • Must be able to work individually or as a team member.
  • Read, understand, and follow all safety procedures.
  • Be able to drive and operate heavy equipment in a safe manner
