Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant in the Finance Department. The incumbent independently performs complex accounting and auditing activities associated with the financial records and reporting; provides technical direction to the accounting staff responsible for the accounting and auditing activities; acts as liaison for the financial reporting of the grant activities of the City; performs bank statement reconciliation; provides financial analysis and information to various departments and administration;

responsible for the capital asset policies, procedures, and accounting support of various budget activities; assists the Deputy Finance director with the accuracy, authenticity, legality, and authorization of the annual financial statements.

High school graduate or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years' experience in finance and accounting, preferably in municipal government, is required. Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc. Equivalent to a four year college degree, plus 5 years related experience and/or training, and 12 to 18 months related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

B.S. in accounting, finance, business or related field preferred with previous supervisory experience and CPA certification desired.

Starting salary range: $28.6592-$30.3456/hr doq.

Salary: $30.35 - $32.14 per hour
