FLSA STATUS: NON-EXEMPT

HOURS: 7:30-4:00 PM and 235 Day contract

SAFETY-SENSITIVE: YES

POSITION SUMMARY: Serve as the welcoming face of MDTC, creating a positive and professional first impression for students, families, industry partners, district employees, and community guests. Act as a First Impressions Ambassador by providing exceptional customer service, accurate information, and a welcoming environment that reflects MDTC's commitment to excellence. The position also supports the Operations and Student Services departments, as well as other staff, through a variety of administrative and customer service functions that contribute to the efficient daily operations of the organization.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum of high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 3+ years clerical work experience is preferred.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office and Google suite is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills over the phone and in-person required.
  • Proactive positive attitude and love for helping people is required
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and professionalism to all students, staff, visitors, and external stakeholders through in-person, telephone, and email.
  • Supervise the main entrance and lobby area to maintain a secure, career-focused learning environment for all.
  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of MDTC departments, programs, personnel, services, conference rooms, assessment/testing locations and daily operations to provide accurate information, answer customer/visitor/student inquiries, and connect customers/visitors/students with the appropriate resources in a timely and professional manner
  • Consistently upholds all MDTC policies in alignment with MDTC's safety-first culture for security of the main entrance and lobby, including ensuring proper visitor sign-in, assisting with issuing visitor badges, and ensuring student IDs are visible. Communicate with administrators on any visitor concerns, safety issues or unusual building activity.
  • Manage phone calls with professionalism by providing clear, courteous, and accurate responses to basic MDTC inquiries and ensuring calls are efficiently directed or transferred to the appropriate departments or staff, reflecting MDTC's high standards of customer service.
  • Support the Student Services team and other departments by accurately entering attendance information into Power School as needed and preparing, processing, and distributing various documents and materials to support departmental operations.
  • Uphold MDTC checkout procedures, verifying parent/guardian authorization for student departures per policy.
  • Receive and disseminate mail and shipments delivered to the reception desk.
  • Prepare, format, and maintain documents, reports, forms, and communications utilizing Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Canva, PDF applications, and other approved software platforms for various departments.

  • LANGUAGE AND GRAMMAR SKILLS:

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to compose and write grammatically correct correspondence and memos.

    REASONING ABILITY:

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, schedule form, or blueprint form.
