Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for various clerical operations of the Student Accounting Department including, but not limited to, handling of daily correspondence, processing of purchase orders, filing, answering phones, greeting patrons and data entry.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • At least high school diploma or GED.
  • Typing speed of 40 wpm.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Google applications (Docs, Sheets, etc.).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain the ability to multi-task in an office setting, including answering phone calls, assisting visitors, opening and distributing mail, preparing correspondence and other documents as directed, filing, maintaining confidential information.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite and Google applications to prepare various reports.
  • Utilize the student information system to access student information, enter data and create reports.
  • Maintain all forms and files relating to student accounting.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding student enrollment.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports.
  • Attend training as needed to maintain knowledge base.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of long-term goals and projects designed to increase the accuracy and functionality of student data.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
  • Perform additional duties that may be assigned by immediate supervisor or above.

LANGUAGE AND GRAMMAR

SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to compose and write grammatically correct correspondence and memos.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, schedule form, or blueprint form.
