American Tissue Industries, a tissue converting company with affiliated plant and warehouse in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma has been in business since 2017 and is a subsidiary of Solaris Paper, Inc. Solaris is a tissue converting company with affiliated plants and warehouses across the US. Solaris has been in business since 2007 and has steadily grown in the away from home (AFH), retail private label (PL) and retail branded (FIORA) sales channels.
The Plant Manager, is responsible for all facets of manufacturing operations including, but not limited to safety, quality, productivity/cost achievements, logistics/customer service, asset management, housekeeping, corporate compliance and communications. This position exists to support the business growth plans of the company by safely producing the correct quantity of specification product to meet the sales demands of the customer base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create a strong safety culture through personal leadership and demonstrated positive behavior. Develop and implement systems and processes to ensure superior safety results and regulatory compliance.
- Manufacture product that conforms to agreed-upon specifications and consistently meets or exceeds the expectations of our customers and consumers. Implement systems and processes that closely monitor conformance and draw focus to reducing variability. Clearly link center lining systems and strategy to the quality conformance system.
- Deliver on targeted production goals as measured by case output, tonnage and operational efficiency. Clearly link center lining systems to productivity improvement programs.
- Ensure that the facility production schedule is developed in a fashion that strikes the critical balance between plant productivity, inventory management and customer service. Collaborate with the supply chain and sales organizations to ensure appropriate inputs are considered when developing manufacturing plans.
- Maintain the facility and assets in like new condition at all times. Develop and implement Asset Care systems that provide for superior asset reliability and uptime
- Create and maintain superior standards for housekeeping and appearance of the facility through visible leadership and communications. Customer visit ready status at all times is the standard
- Maintain a positive employee relations climate through an open door policy and accessibility to all levels of the organization. Place a premium on being a visible leader who spends time daily on the operating floor. Develop and sustain training and development systems to ensure optimal capability and performance of all team members.
- Ensure compliance at all times with internal procedures and external regulatory requirement
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business or related field;
Master's degree preferred Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing in a leadership role - Must be able to lead and develop people through delegation of tasks, training and supervision
- Must be able to work cross-functionally with all departments to meet goals and objectives.
- Must possess knowledge of manufacturing methods, process improvement, and implementation of programs and procedures.
- Paper/Tissue converting experience required
