Job Description
Connect Advisors is a rapidly growing Owner’s Representative firm focused on delivering complex construction projects with precision, accountability, and a client-first mindset. As a Project Director, you will serve as a senior leader responsible for guiding projects, project teams, and client relationships throughout the full project lifecycle—from early planning and preconstruction through design, construction, and final closeout.
The Project Director provides strategic oversight while ensuring projects are executed in alignment with the Owner’s goals for scope, budget, schedule, quality, and risk. This position will lead project teams, maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders, and provide experienced guidance on major project decisions, challenges, and opportunities.
This role requires the ability to operate at both the strategic and project level. The Project Director will establish overall project direction, monitor performance, anticipate risks, and ensure project teams maintain accountability and momentum. You will work closely with Project Managers, Senior Project Managers, consultants, contractors, and client leadership to ensure effective communication and successful project delivery.
Responsibilities- Serve as a senior client relationship leader and trusted advisor, maintaining strong communication with Owner leadership and key project stakeholders.
- Provide executive-level oversight and direction for assigned projects and project teams throughout planning, design, preconstruction, construction, and closeout.
- Establish overall project priorities, goals, expectations, and accountability in alignment with the Owner’s objectives.
- Oversee project scope, budgets, schedules, contracts, quality, risk, and overall performance.
- Lead and mentor Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, Project Coordinators, and other project team members.
- Ensure project teams proactively identify risks, challenges, and decision points and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Provide senior-level review and guidance on project budgets, estimates, forecasts, contingency management, change orders, and major financial decisions.
- Review overall project schedules, major milestones, critical path activities, and recovery or mitigation strategies when required.
- Guide procurement, contracting, design management, preconstruction, construction, commissioning, and closeout activities.
- Facilitate executive-level project meetings, presentations, and decision-making sessions with clients and key stakeholders.
- Provide strategic guidance regarding contractor performance, design team performance, project delivery strategies, and major project issues.
- Ensure project teams maintain consistent reporting, documentation, communication, and project controls in accordance with Connect Advisors’ standards.
- Monitor overall project health and intervene when necessary to resolve significant issues or maintain alignment between project stakeholders.
- Support contract administration and provide guidance regarding contractual obligations, changes, disputes, and project risk.
- Maintain visibility into field operations and construction progress through project reporting, team coordination, and regular site involvement.
- Ensure successful project turnover and closeout, including completion of outstanding items, financial reconciliation, commissioning, warranties, and Owner documentation.
- Support staffing and resource planning across assigned projects to ensure appropriate team structure and workload.
- Develop and mentor project staff, providing coaching, feedback, and opportunities for professional growth.
- Support client development, proposal efforts, project pursuits, interviews, and expansion of existing client relationships.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of Connect Advisors’ project delivery standards, tools, and processes.
- Represent Connect Advisors professionally within the industry and help strengthen the firm’s reputation, relationships, and market presence.
