Position: Student Success Coach, Alpha - $100,000/year USD

Most educators spend their time battling bureaucracy. Creating lesson plans no one will review. Enduring faculty meetings that never produce change. You realized years ago that wasn't the real work. The real work is the student sitting in front of you.

At Alpha, academics are delivered through software. Adaptive applications guide each student through content at an individualized pace. No traditional lectures, no homework assignments, no grading papers. This structure allows you to focus on what truly transforms lives: facilitating life skill workshops where high schoolers develop public speaking ability, concentration, and feedback literacy, then providing one‑on‑one coaching to maintain their motivation and achieve their learning targets.

Half your time is spent facilitating group sessions. The other half involves sitting down with individual students, analyzing their Coachbot metrics to pinpoint exactly where they're encountering obstacles and why.

Students complete a mastery‑based evaluation following each workshop. 90%+ should give you strong ratings. 100% should show progress in their applications. These aren't stretch goals; they're baseline expectations. Maintaining high standards demonstrates your belief in their potential. Throughout this process, you'll develop expertise in creating workshops teenagers genuinely want to attend, mastering advanced learning technology, and forming meaningful relationships with students and families.

Our Brownsville location sits adjacent to SpaceX, where educational innovation meets aerospace exploration, and you'll fulfill Alpha's central mission: students who love learning, progress twice as quickly, and acquire genuinely useful capabilities. If you've been searching for a school that operates the way you believe schools should operate, you've found it.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Facilitating one‑hour life skill workshops for high school students covering topics such as public speaking, concentration, and feedback skills, followed by measuring mastery via a structured Test2

    Pass evaluation.
  • Conducting daily motivation sessions leveraging Coachbot analytics to engage with individual students, diagnose where they're encountering barriers in their learning applications, and help them overcome resistance.
  • Creating personalized motivational approaches with students, including reward systems and incentives that encourage self‑directed advancement in their academic applications.
  • Examining curriculum and lesson plans prior to each session, then adjusting your delivery approach based on student engagement and needs.
What You Won't Be Doing
  • Teaching academic content. Software delivers math, reading, and all other subjects.
  • Running a school or supervising a team. No budget oversight, no hiring responsibilities, no operational meetings; your complete attention stays on your student cohort.
  • Enforcing discipline through traditional authority. No detentions, no suspensions, no "because I said so". You rely on reasoning and positive reinforcement to create a respectful, energized learning environment.
