Role
Summary:
Support depot-level maintenance, overhaul, repair, and remanufacture of F117, F119, and F135 engines, with an initial focus on the F135 propulsion system. Work across engineering, quality, logistics, and program teams to improve processes and support technical initiatives.
Responsibilities- Support depot-level maintenance, overhaul, repair, and remanufacture activities for F117, F119, and F135 engines.
- Interpret and develop manufacturing blueprints to support depot workflows.
- Define and improve component repair strategies and technical dispositions.
- Review, interpret, and analyze technical data related to engine performance and durability.
- Coordinate with Fleet Management, Quality, Logistics, CIPTs, and Program Office teams.
- Support lean initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
- Develop standard work, process documentation, and supporting databases.
- Provide technical support for hardware field issues, including root‑cause analysis.
- Participate in cross-functional communication and deliver technical presentations.
- Shift/Travel:
Standard day shift; minimal travel expected. - Advanced military engine sustainment and depot operations.
- Technical processes related to remanufacture, overhaul, and complex repair strategies.
- Cross-functional collaboration skills within engineering, quality, logistics, and program teams.
- Tools and systems including SAP, Teamcenter, Webtop, and engineering blueprint interpretation.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience; or an advanced degree with 3+ years of experience. An Associate's degree with 7+ years of experience may also be considered; or 9+ years of relevant aviation/jet engine experience in lieu of a degree. Must understand jet engine hardware performance and life‑cycle durability concepts.
- 2+ years of experience with depot maintenance and MRO concepts.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Experience resolving technical issues in an engineering or maintenance environment.
- Familiarity with Teamcenter, Webtop, SAP, or other engineering tools.
- Knowledge of gas turbine operation, value‑stream mapping, root‑cause analysis, and mistake‑proofing.
- Prior experience with military jet engine logistics, repair, or an A&P certification.
Onsite:
Employees will work primarily onsite at Tinker AFB. Salary range: $86,800 – $165,200 USD. Eligibility for short‑term and long‑term incentive compensation programs depends on level and collective‑bargaining agreements.
