Job DescriptionPosition Summary: The Computer Support Technician must manage, monitor, and repair computer systems and related hardware, ensuring proper configuration and efficient operation. Responsibilities include installing patches, diagnosing and repairing technical issues, resolving hardware failures, configuring software and drivers, performing system upgrades, promoting data security, managing workstations, and inventory control to support Mid-Del Public Schools’ end‑user services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Effectively communicate with end‑users to gather information for troubleshooting.
- Troubleshoot and resolve computer hardware and software problems.
- Install special hardware and software programs.
- Maintain and troubleshoot peripheral hardware supported by the district.
- Install and set up new computers.
- Install and run various cable and wiring systems.
- Set up printers, digital duplicators, and fax machines.
- Maintain inventory of technical equipment.
- Maintain records, prepare reports, and draft correspondence related to work.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Successful completion of technical training for computer technician or two years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- College coursework and/or A+ Certification preferred.
Language and Grammar: Ability to read simple instructions, short correspondence, compose and write grammatically correct memos.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and interpret various instructions in written, oral, diagram, schedule or blueprint form.
Physical DemandsHands use, reaching, talking, standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, lifting up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Vision: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, focus adjustment.
Work EnvironmentExposure to fume or airborne particles, high or precarious places, adverse weather, moving mechanical parts, extreme cold or heat, electrical shock, vibration, variable noise levels. Potential for work location changes due to health crisis or disruptive events.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesMay supervise varying number of employees in coordination and completion of tasks.
BenefitsFull‑time position, salary $39,568.10 per year.
