This position will be located in our Virtual Care Command Center located at Cox South Hospital. Virtual Nursing is a new and innovative branch of healthcare. Our Virtual Nursing Command Center is full of advanced technology that gives our patients an extra level of monitoring from admission to discharge. Virtual nurses are centrally located in the Virtual Command Center at Cox South.

They use this technology to support bedside RNs with tasks to lighten their workload as well as monitor patient’s vital signs, assist with admissions and discharges, and collaborate with virtual physicians, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, and the Early Intervention Team. The eICU Virtual nurse is a pivotal member of the healthcare team to assist with managing the care of adult or geriatric patients experiencing general medical conditions or general surgical procedures.

• Assisting with tasks such as completing admissions, care plan development and maintenance, patient education, medication and discharge teaching, care coordination, mentoring new nurses.
• Implementing evidence‑based care.
• Assisting the primary bedside nurse with nursing tasks not required to be done in person.
• Real‑time quality and patient safety surveillance.
• Maintaining a wide array of medical care knowledge to care for a diverse group of patients.

• Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing).
• Experience: Minimum of two years previous nursing experience on an inpatient nursing unit. Preferred:
  Charge nurse or preceptor experience and specialty nursing certification.

Required:

RN license active in the state of Missouri.
