SalaryLevel II: up to $48,400.00 per year. Level III: up to $51,017.00 per year.
Responsibilities- Performs nursing procedures or specialized functions in accordance with knowledge, skills, and licensure.
- Provide contraceptive education and pregnancy testing.
- Perform WIC assessments for eligible women, infants, and children.
- Obtain height, weight, hemoglobin, and lead testing.
- Educate parents on feeding habits for newborns and children up to five years.
- Educate pregnant women and mothers on breastfeeding.
- Issue breast pumps and instruct on use and handling of breast milk.
- Educate on proper storage, mixing, and handling of formula.
- Teach basic nursing skills and related principles.
- Assess immunization records and provide required immunizations to infants, children, and adults.
- Provide patient education on vaccines and possible side effects.
- Assist in assessing, reporting, and recording health status of patients, families, and groups in various settings.
- Check for lice in children and adults and provide education and treatment.
- Conduct community outreach 1–2 times per year to provide services and education on county health department programs.
- Participate in developing and implementing appropriate aspects of a plan of care.
- Administer medications as ordered.
- Administer vaccines as ordered or indicated.
- Oversee vaccine inventory for large district sites, assist with movement, monitoring, and reconciliation; facilitate vaccine movement for pandemic responses and VFC.
- Provide vaccine updates to nursing staff as needed.
- Report patient information to supervisor or appropriate health team member.
- Participate in evaluation of intervention responses.
- Be present at the office as an essential function of the job.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and support the department’s mission, vision, values, standards, policies, procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and code of ethical behavior.
- Work effectively in a team environment, participating and assisting peers.
- Level II: Possession of a valid permanent Oklahoma license as a licensed practical nurse approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing or an eNLC license, plus one year of practical nursing experience.
- Level III: Possession of a valid permanent Oklahoma license as a licensed practical nurse approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing or an eNLC license, plus two years of practical nursing experience.
- Submit documentation of education, certification, or licensure if required to meet qualifications.

Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of nursing techniques, procedures, practices, and theory, of medical terminology, and infection control measures. Ability to exercise sound judgment, follow detailed instructions, establish and maintain effective working relationships, and provide nursing care to patients or clients.
Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentThe position is set in a clinic environment. Employees frequently stand, walk, lift, and reach; may be required to stand 80% of the time. Activities include sitting, walking, stooping, lifting, bending, pushing, and reaching. Employee must be able to use an N-95 respirator and may be exposed to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, toxic substances, and medicinal preparations.
