TITLE:
Security Officer

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 21 years of age.
• Certified by CLEET as an Armed Security Officer with documentation of current status.
• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Work well with students.
• Has good job and character references.
• Able to work well with others and take direction as needed.
• Physically able to meet the needs of the position.
• Able to pass a complete criminal background check.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications that the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

REPORTS TO: Chief of Police and Campus Police Officer at High School.

JOB GOAL: To provide students with a safe educational environment.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Patrol and maintain security of student parking lot and exterior of the building.
  • If appropriate operate and maintain the parking lot security booth.
  • Check persons coming onto campus, students, patrons, parents, etc.
  • Check students leaving campus during the school day for appropriate passes and schedules.
  • Enforce parking regulations and rules within the parking lots.
  • Assist the Campus Police Officer and Administration of the school to maintain a safe and secure school environment.
  • Work extra duty activities as needed by the School and the District.
  • Any other special duties assigned by the Chief of Police.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 196 day contract. Salary to be established by the Board.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated monthly during probation periods and annually thereafter in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of nonprofessional personnel.
