The City of Midwest City is accepting applications for a Technician I/Mechanic in the Fleet Services department. The incumbent performs skilled repair and maintenance of light and heavy automotive equipment with gasoline or diesel engines, including cars, trucks, tractors and construction equipment.
Responsibilities- Perform skilled repair and maintenance of light and heavy automotive equipment with gasoline or diesel engines, including cars, trucks, tractors and construction equipment.
- High school graduate or equivalent with previous experience in automotive maintenance and repair.
- Regular use of highly complex machines and equipment; specialized or advanced software programs.
- Must possess a valid Oklahoma driver’s license and be insurable.
- All new employees must receive or possess at least one category of ASE certification within their first year of employment. E-3:
Must obtain or possess ASE certification in 5 categories. E-5:
Must obtain or possess ASE certification in 7 categories. - Commercial driver license preferred.
- This position is designated as safety/security sensitive and is subject to pre-employment, reasonable suspicion and random drug and alcohol screening.
Starting Salary: $20.2362-$21.4269/hr with benefits depending on ASE certifications. Salary: $20.23 - $21.42 per hour.
