Field Services Tech I – Line Maintenance

The City of Midwest City is accepting applications for the Field Services Tech I position in the Line Maintenance Department. This entry‑level role involves the operation of trucks, tractors, mowers, dump trucks, excavation equipment, and motorized rodder machinery. The incumbent uses power and hand tools to install, repair, and maintain the City-owned water distribution system, wastewater collection system, and other public property.

• Operate trucks, tractors, mowers, dump trucks, excavation equipment, and motorized rodder machinery.
• Use power and hand tools for the installation, repair, and maintenance of water distribution, wastewater collection systems, and other public assets.
• Train in preparation for testing and obtaining an OK Commercial Class "B" driver’s license with Air Brakes and Tanker endorsement.
• Obtain ODEQ Class "D" water and wastewater certifications.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid Oklahoma driver’s license (insurable).
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Previous experience in the water and wastewater field preferred.
• Experience with excavation equipment such as a backhoe or track hoe and shoring equipment desired.
• Eligibility to reclass to a Line Maintenance Field Services Tech II upon obtaining the required CDL or both ODEQ certifications.
• Must obtain an OK Commercial Class "B" driver’s license with Air Brakes and Tanker endorsement within one (1) year of hire.
• Must obtain ODEQ Class "D" water and wastewater certifications within one (1) year of hire.

Starting salary: $18.14 per hour. Benefits provided.
