Part Time Technician I​/Mechanic

Position Overview

The City of Midwest City is accepting applications for a Part Time Technician I/Mechanic in the Fleet Services Department. The incumbent performs skilled repair and maintenance of light and heavy automotive equipment with gasoline or diesel engines, including cars, trucks, tractors and construction equipment.

The incumbent will:

• Perform skilled repair and maintenance of automotive equipment.
• Use highly complex machines and equipment, including specialized or advanced software programs.

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Previous experience in automotive maintenance and repair.
• Must possess a valid Oklahoma driver’s license and be insurable.
• All new employees must receive or possess at least one category of ASE certification within their first year of employment.
• Tier requirements: E-1 (one category), E-3 (five categories), E-5 (seven categories).
• Commercial driver license preferred.
• Position is designated as safety/security sensitive and is subject to pre-employment, reasonable suspicion and random drug and alcohol screening.

Salary: $16.30 per hour. No benefits are provided.
