Position Summary

The Avionics Wiring Crew Chief is responsible for leading assigned aircraft projects while ensuring avionics installations and modifications are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. This role serves as both a technical expert and mentor within the avionics department. In addition to inspecting, servicing, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing aircraft avionics systems, the Crew Chief coordinates resources, manages project execution, supports customer communication, and develops less-experienced technicians through coaching and mentorship.

Success in this role is measured not only by the quality and efficiency of the work produced, but also by the growth and development of the team.

  • Accept ownership of project scope, scheduling, manpower allocation, quality, and customer satisfaction
  • Manage technicians throughout all phases of assigned aircraft projects

  • Coordinate with project management, engineering, quality control, maintenance, and other departments
  • Promote technician development through coaching, mentoring, and on-the-job training
  • Support environmental, health, safety, FAA, OSHA, state, and local regulations
