M&A Manager — Renewables (Buy-Side) | Milan (Hybrid)
A market-leading global renewables developer, supplier and contractor is growing its Investments and M&A function in Italy and is hiring an M&A Manager to drive buy-side acquisitions and organic investment as part of its Italian country expansion.
Reporting to the Country Manager, you will originate, analyse and execute the buy-side of M&A opportunities and take projects and plants through to completion. This is a high-impact, commercially central role for someone with a Big4, investment banking or private equity pedigree who wants to move deeper into renewable energy infrastructure.
What you will do
Coordinate and execute due diligence, structuring and negotiation of transaction documentation on potential M&A opportunities
Manage external advisors (legal, financial) and direct internal teams through the NBO and BO stages of transaction execution
Own economic analysis and financial models for investment opportunities, and coordinate the due diligence process end to end
Prepare investment approvals, investment memoranda and transaction documents to support global investment decision-making bodies
Analyse greenfield projects in terms of economic risk and strategic options, producing clear reports on findings
Build and analyse financial models, testing the commercial data and assumptions behind forecasts
Support the preparation of business plans and impairment analyses in coordination with the Corporate Investments and M&A department
Prepare strategic presentations and build strong working relationships across the business and global technical communities
What you will bring
MBA or MSc in Finance or a related field
4 to 5 years in core valuation, M&A, corporate finance or investment analysis (Big4, Investment Banking or Private Equity background a strong plus)
Strong valuation knowledge (FCFF and FCFE), plus financing, accounting and strategic analysis
Hands-on M&A due diligence experience (required)
Experience in the energy or infrastructure sector, ideally renewables (required)
Strong teamwork and the ability to manage interdepartmental relationships empathetically across Western European and Chinese HQ teams
Excellent time management and the ability to work on and off site with minimal supervision
Strategic vision paired with high attention to detail
