Our client is a leading international engineering and industrial technology organisation with a strong reputation for delivering innovative, reliable and sustainable power solutions across multiple sectors. As part of a major strategic expansion within the rapidly growing Data Centre industry, the company is developing advanced backup power and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) solutions to support mission-critical infrastructure across Europe. To support this growth, the organisation is strengthening its European project delivery team and is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful execution of complex customer projects from contract award through to commissioning and final handover.
The Opportunity
The Project Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of customer projects involving power solutions for Data Centre applications across Europe.
Working within an international matrix organisation, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and in accordance with contractual, technical and customer requirements.
You will manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, coordinating internal teams, customers, EPC contractors, suppliers and technology partners throughout the entire project lifecycle.
This role combines technical project leadership with strong commercial and financial ownership, ensuring excellent governance, stakeholder management and successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery
Lead Data Centre power solution projects from contract award through commissioning and final handover.
Develop and implement comprehensive project execution plans aligned with contractual commitments and customer expectations.
Monitor project progress, identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget and to the required quality and safety standards.
Planning & Coordination
Develop integrated project schedules and delivery roadmaps.
Coordinate Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing, Procurement, Logistics, Service and Commercial teams.
Manage resources, priorities and critical project milestones across several concurrent projects.
Maintain effective governance throughout the project lifecycle.
Supplier & Partner Management
Coordinate external suppliers and strategic delivery partners.
Manage interfaces with EPC contractors, electrical infrastructure suppliers, battery manufacturers, commissioning specialists, engineering consultants and logistics providers.
Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery issues to minimise execution risks.
Commercial & Financial Management
Take ownership of project financial performance.
Manage budgets, forecasts, profitability and cash flow.
Administer change orders, contractual variations and commercial obligations.
Deliver accurate project reporting and financial governance.
Lifecycle Costing & Commercial Analysis
Support lifecycle costing and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) assessments.
Understand customer business cases and investment drivers.
Collaborate with Commercial and Finance teams to optimise long-term project value.
Work within projects involving complex contractual and financing structures.
Stakeholder Management
Act as the primary project contact throughout project execution.
Build strong relationships with customers, EPC organisations, consultants and key stakeholders.
Lead project review meetings and executive progress updates.
Ensure clear communication across all internal and external teams.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across Sales, Engineering, Product Management, Supply Chain and Aftermarket functions.
Promote collaboration across international teams to ensure successful delivery.
Capture lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Candidate Profile
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in delivering complex engineering or mission-critical infrastructure projects within international environments.
The ideal candidate combines excellent project execution skills with strong commercial awareness, financial acumen and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders across long and technically demanding project life cycles.
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Project Management or a related technical discipline.
6–10 years of experience delivering complex industrial, energy or mission-critical infrastructure projects.
Experience with in one or more of the following sectors:
Data Centres
Critical Power
Power Generation
Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
Electrical Infrastructure
Industrial Energy Solutions
Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with significant technical and commercial complexity.
Experience working with international customers and multidisciplinary project teams.
