Purpose of the position
Pipeline Welding Operator – responsible for high‑quality welding on pipelines using approved welding procedures and safety requirements. Requires expertise in GTAW, SMAW, and FCAW on carbon steel and stainless steel. Assignments are onshore at fabrication yards or offshore on laying vessels worldwide.
Responsibilities
Proven experience welding with GTAW, SMAW and FCAW welding processes.
Ability to weld in required positions, including 5G, 2G and 6G where applicable.
Ability to perform weld repairs with manual welding processes.
Experience as a pipeline welder (or in a piping plant) is a plus.
Possession of welder qualification certificates.
Qualifications
Education:
Welder trained in welding school with GTAW, SMAW, FCAW on carbon steel and stainless steel, and positions 2G, 5G, 6G. Capable of performing welding repairs including gouging.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years as a qualified welder within the pipeline or piping industry.
Experience with manual welding processes is essential; experience with a mechanized GMAW welding system is an additional value.
Languages:
English speaking, reading, writing.
Technical/IT
Skills:
Welder qualification certificates.
What else you should know
The role begins with intensive training on Saipem welding systems – GMAW – in the Pipeline Technologies Center in Romania. After training, assignments will take place at fabrication yards worldwide or offshore on laying vessels.

Basic pay not lower than €34,000 plus overseas allowances.
